Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

SO WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. The Aquabase QGIS plugin (for QGIS > 3.x) has been updated to be more efficient, especially for querying databases in the cloud (large datasets retrieved through Internet connections).
  2. The Chart Properties dialog now also allows the editing/changing of the titles of the series to be more meaningful for the legend.
  3. Series can now also be switched on/off in the Chart Properties dialog by selecting the relevant series and checking/unchecking the “Show Series” checkbox.

AND WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. Three spatial triggers in the BASICINF table did not work as expected due to changes in the latest version of SQLite databases. This has been fixed and the triggers will be automatically updated in database versions 7. The default “aquabase.sqlite” database (which is used when creating new SQLite workspaces) has also been updated with the changed triggers.
  2. When viewing coordinates in Degrees/Minutes/Seconds then the “Apply Coordinate System” tool to re-create the Longitude/Latitude (and Geometry) field values failed with an Float conversion error. This has been fixed.
  3. The plotting of the chemistry standard limit lines on time-dependent charts did not work as expected with all the available chemistry standards. This is now working.
  4. The chemistry standards and relevant colours on the chemistry entry forms did not change immediately when changed in the Aquabase Preferences. This changes now on activation of the form after changing the chemistry preferences.
  5. Some properties of series and charts in the Chart Properties dialog were not set properly from the relevant chart/series. While there might be still some properties not set correctly, quite a few should be fixed now.
  6. A few smaller bug fixes and enhancements
