Aquabase update to version 9.2.3.422

Aquabase update to version 9.2.3.422

The latest 9.2.3.422 update with a few bug fixes and some new functions is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development Programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. The “Select Sites”, “Create View” and “Run SQL Query” forms have been reworked to also include the possibility to sample the existing data in the database tables for providing suggestions to use in the SQL query. This also adds quotes to matches in string fields to make query builing a lot easier…now it’s just double-clicking on or dragging items into the SQL box and starting the search.
  2. The “Pumping Test Import” form now has a separate navigator at the bottom of the grid to control the date/time, water level and discharge rate data entry and editing.
  3. When connecting to remote server databases the required password can now be saved. This will be done in a database in the logged-in users home directory (per user) and therefore can be automatically inserted once the correct username for the relevant database connection of the workspace in entered.
  4. Another step towards internationalisation has been achieved by making Aquabase available in German. This is still EXPERIMENTAL and also still needs a lot of work, mostly the translations for the numerous Aquabase messages. The lookup codes have also been translated for workspaces in Germany and will be implemented for other German-speaking countries, once finalised. More languages will follow, so watch this space!

WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. The “Pumping Test Import” form did not allow auto-editing the data, even when set in the Aquabase preferences. When changing any settings in the preferences while having the import form open, a message could appear that the user has moved to a different site, which is not actually the case. These behaviours have been fixed.
  2. The Pumping Test Report did not show some grid lines, ticks and frames when using dark mode. This has been changed and should work properly now.
  3. When creating a new view it was possible to use names starting with a 0, which could lead to view names consisting of numbers only, which is not allowed. This is now fixed.
  4. If a connection to a database failed or was interrupted, a ListIndex error could occur, which is now resolved.
  5. A couple of smaller bugs were found and fixed.
