Aquabase update to version 9.2.2.421

Aquabase update to version 9.2.2.421

The latest 9.2.2.421 update with a few bug fixes and some new functions is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development Programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. Debian (and derivatives) Linux Aquabase users will now also receive information about an update at startup. The update will automatically be downloaded to the “tmp” directory and can be moved to the “Downloads” directory, from where it can be installed with any favourite package installer.
  2. Chemistry labels have been adapted to subscript numbers and superscript “+” and “-“. They will work on the Standard Chemistry form, but not on the user-defined parameters form and the reports. The function for the chemistry reports might be added at a later stage.

WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. When using non-map-reference site identifiers and not changing the coordinates immediately after creating a new site an error message could occur with the default coordinates in the center of the country. This is now fixed.
  2. The lookup codes form could be maximised a therefore cover the entry forms. This has been changed to a maximum size within constraints of 640×480.
  3. Time-dependent charts in dark mode did not show the grid lines, as the default colour setting for the lines was white. This has been changed to grey, so that they are always visible.
  4. Closing Aquabase shortly after starting could lead to corrupt update download files. The thread used for the download function has been optimised so that the download can exit gracyfully now.
  5. When double-clicking labels in the chemistry forms to view chemistry limits the cursor could remain in “drag mode” (for dragging parameters onto the user-defined chemistry form). This is fixed. Additionally dragging will only begin when the mouse is actually moved after clicking.
  6. Some smaller, mostly unnoticed, bugs were also fixed.
