Aquabase Update to version 8.1.7.370

Aquabase Update to version 8.1.7.370

The latest 8.1.7.370 update with a number bug fixes and a few new features is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

SO WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. The translation of Aquabase into other languages (e.g. German and Dutch) has begun. This is a tedious process and will take some time to complete. The language in Aquabase will then obviously be dependent on the locale selected for the PC where Aquabase is installed.

AND WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. On the Hole Finish entry form the date constructed was not checked for correctness and therefore could lead to unexpected errors. The checking function was available but not assigned to the event. This is now resolved.
  2. When applying coordinates to the basic information Longitude and Latitude in WGS84 a coordinate setting other than “Geographic Coordinates” resulted in inaccurate transformations, which has now been fixed.
  3. When creating a new site with “Default coordinates to the center of map” setting the X and Y coordinates were swapped around when set to view in any South African LO system. This has been resolved.
  4. The Site-linked Reports and Member entry forms grid lost the drop-down list selection of existing report numbers and member IDs respectively. This is now possible again.
  5. The Site Images entry form did not move between sites when using the navigator to move to another site. This has been fixed.
  6. When appending a PostgreSQL database to another existing database the data from the basicinf table (and therefore all other data) could not be appended due to the GEOMETRY field not being correctly identified. This should work now.
  7. The ZSQLMonitor somehow got disabled. This is not critical as it only serves as a monitoring tool for all database related functions to identify potential problems. It is enabled again.
  8. Quite a few smaller bug fixes.
