Aquabase Update to Version 8.4.4.393

Aquabase Update to Version 8.4.4.393

The latest 8.4.4.393 update with a number bug fixes and a few new functions is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. The time-dependent chart settings now allow more fields to filter your data, including the ngdb_flag field, which may be used to flag data for various purposes. When selecting a filter field then only the codes/values are shown in the filter value combobox that actually exist in the database (not all possible codes for that particular field).
  2. The time-dependent chart series now have more descriptive names, including what type of data (water level, field measurements etc.) and filter value (0, T, C etc.) was used for the plot. This helps with the identification of the series when changing properties in the Chart Properties dialog, especially when having more than one series on a chart; e.g. more than one water level piezometer or several field measurement parameters etc.
  3. The time-dependent chart legends can now be adjusted to display in more than one column (up to 4).
  4. The Run SQL Script and Flag Records functions now also allow Cut/Copy/Paste functions with keys and popup menu (right-click).
  5. The Humidity table received one more column “CONDITIONS” to store the weather conditions (clouds etc.) for the date/time at which the humidity is recorded. This field will be created automatically if it does not exist.
  6. There is a new template (.xls and .ods spreadsheets) for the import of logger data in spreadsheet format with the Import|Other Tables function of Aquabase. They have instructions on how to use them on the first sheet.
  7. The Aquabase – QGIS plugin for QGIS Vers. < 3 is no longer maintained and has been removed from the installation. For QGIS Vers. 3.x the updated plugin will be automatically installed into QGIS when running Aquabase for the first time after installation of the plugin, but only for the QGIS default profile. If you create other profiles you can install the plugin by installing the “Aquabase QGIS3.zip”, which is available under the Aquabase installation folder. You may have to activate the plugin in QGIS after installation.

AND WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. The time-dependent charts created same-colour series when creating more than one series in one chart. This has been fixed to change random colours between series.
  2. The Humidity entry did not insert previous row values (like Rep. Inst, Info src. Date meas. etc.) automatically, which is now implemented.
  3. The time-dependent chart settings did not set relevant units properly according to the tables selected for the chart. This has been resolved, but also meant a change to the Aquasort settings table. If this table resides in a non-default folder then it will be automatically updated (recreated) with the new values necessary for the charts.
  4. Various smaller bugs were fixed.
