Aquabase update to version 9.1.1.412

Aquabase update to version 9.1.1.412

The latest 9.1.1.412 update with a few bug fixes and some new functions is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development Programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. For workspaces in South Africa there now is an option to automatically fill in cadastral information with the site name and district/farm number from an online ArcGIS REST query. The computer needs to be connected to the Internet for this function to work. The “Cadastral ID” field (formerly “District & Farm Nr.”, renamed to be more compatible with international requirements) will be automatically filled with information from the REST service, if it is left empty when posting and the relevant checkbox is checked. The “Site Name/Description” field will be automatically filled with the farm name and number, if left empty when posting, or the farm name and number added at the end of an existing value, if the relevant checkbox is checked. As this service is dependent on Internet speed and REST server response time posting a record with the option on could take a second or two. The status of the checkbox (checked or not) is persistent across all entry forms.
  2. A whole range of new background map providers have been added to the mapping function.
  3. The chemistry charts have been reworked to be more compatible with dark mode and more appealing. Backgrounds and font colours have been changed to be always visible and some settings will be maintained between sessions.

WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. Since lower case character fields were introduced/allowed in Aquabase 9.0.6.410 the automatic insertion of e.g. municipalities, districts, water management areas always queried that the relevant name did not correspond to the coordinates, which actually did, but was comparing uppercase names with otherwise lower case stored values. This is now resolved and should not happen any longer.
  2. Some edit fields did not adjust to CAPS when not allowing small letters (lowercase). These have been changed to automatically set uppercase letters.
  3. The “Load default map providers” function on the mapping component did not load the default providers, but used the ones in the workspace, when available. This has been fixed.
  4. The construction and log charts and settings form did not adjust to dark mode properly, which made some components of the charts not visible (white on white background or black on black background). This is now working as expected.
  5. A few smaller bugs were also fixed.
