Aquabase update to version 9.1.0.411

Aquabase update to version 9.1.0.411

The latest 9.1.0.411 update with a few bug fixes and some new functions is now available for download (Aquabase will check for an update on start-up) and will require a password to complete the update process. This password is included in an email to subscribers to the Aquabase Support and Development Programme. If Aquabase cannot download the update automatically you can also get it from the Download section of this website. You have to be a registered user to access the individual downloads in this section.

Please read the notes during installation for the latest exciting additions and bug fixes! We (the developers and the users) are constantly working on improving and fixing Aquabase functionality. Please let me know if you find any bugs and/or would like to make suggestions for new functions.

WHAT’S NEW IN THIS LATEST VERSION?

  1. The MapView component for the simple mapping function had a major update to 1.0.2.0, which also addressed a number of bugs. The mapping function has now been taken out of EXPERIMENTAL mode and some new functionality added, including labelling on Linux platforms and different choices of labels to show at the points. The labels have also been moved to the top right instead of bottom center, but this will be provided as an additional option in future. The option of adding new sites by clicking on the map will also be investigated. As they say: watch this space!
  2. Aquabase has now been compiled with the latest Lazarus IDE 4.2 and FPC 3.2.2 versions under Linux and WINE, which should make it more stable and provide new functions in future.

WHAT HAS BEEN FIXED SINCE THE LAST VERSION?

  1. The reloading of Views on the map form resulted in an access violation, which is now fixed and the views load as expected.
  2. The Notepad form still did not have a scrollbar on the right in Windows (Linux version had the scrollbar). This has now been added.
  3. Adding new sites and profiling information with PostgreSQL connections gave an error message due to changes in the new ZEOS database drivers. The relevant queries have been fixed to allow adding sites without errors.
  4. Some coordinate settings when adding new sites with map references did not work as expected, but have now been adjusted to work properly.
  5. In Dark Mode some fonts on forms and reports with chemistry did not adjust to the default application font colour or report font colour respectively. This has been rectified.
  6. The coordinate conversion when adding new sites with LO coordinate settings and non-map-reference Site Identifiers (i.e. UUID and other numbers) did not work correctly. Coordinate settings with “LO from Map Reference” (the Site Identifier) cannot calculate the coordinates correctly as the system does not know the nearest uneven Longitude and is therefore not possible. Other LO system settings should work out the coordinates correctly now.
  7. A number of smaller, often unnoticed, bugs were also fixed.
